College Notebook: Graduations Continue, Students Recognized for Outstanding Achievement

Tewksbury's Kerstin Brolsma Recognized By Lawrence University for Outstanding Achievement

Kerstin Brolsma, the daughter of Bruce Brolsma and Rev. Imogene Stulken, Tewksbury, was recognized at Lawrence University's recent (May 13) Honors and Awards banquet. Brolsma received the Mojmir Povolny Prize in Government, awarded to an outstanding senior government student; the Gervais and Mary Reed Award, which recognizes the senior woman who, in the opinion of her classmates, best exemplifies academic achievement, service to others and a commitment to the common good; and the Patricia Ritter Prize in Chinese Culture, awarded for exceptional achievement in the study of Chinese culture. She is a 2011 graduate of Phillips Academy, Andover.

Colin Mark Walsh Graduates from Bryant University

Bryant University held its 152nd Commencement on Saturday, May 16. Among the graduates is Colin Mark Walsh of Tewksbury, Bachelor of Arts in Communication.

University of New Hampshire Announces May 2015 Graduates

The following students graduated from the University of New Hampshire during the Commencement Ceremony held Saturday, May 16, 2015 in Durham, N.H. Students who received the honor of Summa Cum Laude graduated with a GPA of 3.7-4.0; students who received the honor of Magna Cum Laude graduated with a GPA of 3.50-3.69; and students who received the honor of Cum Laude graduated with a GPA of 3.2-3.49:
  • Brian Donahue of Tewksbury earning a BSME in Mechanical Engineering
  • Brian Gugger of Tewksbury earning a BA in Communication Summa Cum Laude
  • Courtney Taber of Tewksbury earning a BS in Family Studies Summa Cum Laude
Tewksbury Resident, Brittney Pachucki Named to Worcester Polytechnic Institute's Spring 2015 Dean's List

Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) has announced that Brittney Pachucki of Tewksbury, Mass., a sophomore majoring in biomedical engineering, was named to the university's Dean's List for academic excellence for the spring 2015 semester.

Local Residents Achieve Dean's List at Lasell College for Spring 2015

Several local residents have achieved Dean's List for the Spring 2015 semester at Lasell College in Newton, MA. To achieve the Dean's List, each student must be full-time carrying 12 or more graded credits for the semester with a grade point average of 3.5 or above. They were among 695 students to receive the honor.  Named to the Dean's List are:
  • Mark Brooks of Tewksbury, MA is a member of the class of 2018, majoring in Communication
  • Rachel Yore of Tewksbury, MA is a member of the class of 2018, majoring in History with Secondary Education
Keene State Announces the 2015 Spring Dean's List

1,411 students were honored for academic excellence in the spring 2015 semester. To qualify for the dean's list, Keene State undergraduates must be enrolled in a degree program and must have completed a minimum of six credit hours in the semester, receiving no failing or incomplete grades. Students must achieve a 3.5 or higher grade point average on a 4.0 scale to earn dean's list honors.  The following local students were among the honorees:
  • Andrea Cuzzupe of Tewksbury (01876)
  • Nicholas Sheehan of Tewksbury (01876)
Kristen Marie Mader graduates from Becker College's Class of 2015

The following resident(s) were part of Becker College's Class of 2015, which graduated during the college's 227th commencement ceremony, held on Saturday, May 9, 2015, at the DCU Center in Worcester. Four hundred and forty two students, Becker's largest graduating class ever, were awarded bachelor of science, bachelor of arts, and associate of science degrees.

Kristen Marie Mader, of Tewksbury, received a(n) Associate of Science in Veterinary Technology.

Mackenzie S. Ryan Named to Dean's List

Mackenzie Ryan has been named to the dean's list for the spring 2015 semester at the University of Vermont. Ryan, from Tewksbury, MA, is a First-year Biological Science major.  To be named to the dean's list, students must have a grade-point average of 3.0 or better and rank in the top 20 percent of their class in their respective college or school.
