TEWKSBURY: Stephen Mario Faldasz, age 85, a 51 year Tewksbury resident, formerly of Somerville, passed away at home, with his family by his side on Saturday, May 23, 2015.
He was the beloved husband of Joan M. (Kelley) Faldasz with whom he would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on June 18, 2015.
Born in Boston on August 15, 1929, he was the son of the late Jan B. Faldasz and Frances (Szemczuk)Faldasz.
Mr. Faldasz was raised in Boston and graduated from Boston Latin High School.
In 1951, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War. He was awarded the Korean Service Medal with 3 Bronze Stars, the United Nations Service Medal, and the Meritorious Unit Commendation with 2 O/S Bars for his active duty service.
Steve owned and operated Steve’s Auto Body in Billerica for10 years. He later worked for Frotten Trucking Company in Tewksbury until his retirement.
Steve enjoyed family cookouts, tinkering in his yard, and spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children, Donna J. Carifio of Tewksbury, Stephen M. Faldasz, Jr. of Haverhill, Cliff J. Faldasz and his wife Linda of Hudson, NH, Sharon A. Boesse and her husband Robert of Falmouth, and Fran M. Wenetta of Tewksbury; nine grandchildren, Nicole, CJ, Jeff, Becky, Alex, Steve, Marina and her husband Jose, Michael and Aaron; four great grandchildren, Austin, Gianna, Savannah, and Emma.
Steve was the father-in-law of the late Richard D. Carifio.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Graveside service at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 29, at the Tewksbury Cemetery, 172 East St. Tewksbury. At the request of the family there are No Calling Hours.
