A man doing work on a roof on Wayside Road in Tewksbury sustained life-threatening injuries when he fell nearly 30 feet.
Tewksbury Firefighters and Paramedics were called to 11 Wayside Road around 10:30 a.m.  The home is located off Shawsheen Street, almost directly behind Market Basket.
According to a TFD spokesperson, the victim sustained serious and potentially life-threatening injuries.
The victim was transported to the Tewksbury Lodge of Elks on South Street, where he was loaded onto a Med-Flight chopper and flown to Boston Medical Center for treatment. No further information on his status is available at this time.
According to the TFD spokesperson, the victim was a friend of the homeowner and was either on the roof or working at the edge of the roof at the time of the accident. First responders reported the victim had set up staging next to the home and then had a ladder on top of the staging to reach the roof. The accident appears to have happened when the staging collapsed.
According to the TFD spokesperson, the victim fell 25-30 feet to the ground.
