Professional Wrestling Invades Tewksbury This Week To Benefit Boston Children's Hospital

Jun 09, 2015 03:25AM ● By Bill Gilman
The high-flying, slam-bang action of UFO professional wrestling will invade the Tewksbury Country Club on Thursday, June 11. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m., with the first match scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m.
The event, organized locally by Heather Estee and her daughter Paige, serves as a fundraiser for Boston Children's Hospital. More than a decade ago, Paige Estee was a patient at Children's Hospital. The quality of care she received from the doctors and staff, as she was restored to full health, inspired the family to say "Thank you" in the form of fundraising activities.
For the past four years, the major fundraiser has been a pro wrestling card.
"I grew up with Heather's husband," said Pat Dillon, co-owner and promotor for UFO Wrestling, based in South Boston. "She puts so much time and energy into it. We're glad to help out."
There will be nine matches on the card but the fun isn't limited to the action in the ring. There will be raffles, face painting, photo ops and autograph sessions with the wrestlers, food, candy and a cash bar.
As for the card itself, Dillon promises fans an action-packed night of excitement and surprises.
"Fans are going to see the top wrestling talent in the Northeast," said Dillon. "One of the guys, a new wrestler, Donovan Dijak, just won the Top Prospect Tournament in the Ring of Honor promotion."
Dijak, 28, who was born in Lunenburg, Mass. and now lives in Tyngsboro, is a massive human being, checking in at 6'7", 275 lbs. The unenviable task of facing Dijak in the ring will fall to Dan Terri.
Revenge will be on the mind of "The International Male" Aaron Amadeus when he takes on "The Firebrand" Brian Fury. The two met as part of the BCH Fundraiser card last year, with Fury managing to escape with a the win.
This will be round two for these guys. They nearly tore the roof off the country club last year in a 'Falls Count Anywhere Tewksbury Street Fight,'" said Dillon.
Amadeus, who is coming off a brutal feud with Gary Gold in the House of Bricks promotion in the New Bedford area, has promised to kick Fury from one of end of Route 38 to the other. But the veteran Fury, who has trained many up and coming wrestlers, said he plans to teach the brash youngster another lesson.
The main event of the evening will be fan favorite
"The Masshole" Mike McCarthy" vs. Ted Goodz. McCarthy is as talented as he is unpredictable. He's also expected to be in a foul mood, as his UFO title match against Champion "Kingpin" Brian Milonas was cancelled because of a knee injury suffered by Milonas.
Tag team action will see the new UFO tag champs, Mr. Wrestling 9 and Mr. Wrestling 12, defending their titles against the Chop-n-Crop Express.
"Flip Gordon" will make his UFO debut vs TK O'Ryan in a singles match.
The UFO Cruiserweight Championship will be on the line in a high-flying, fast-paced triple-threat match.
Among the other wrestlers scheduled to appear will be Eric Alverado and Lizzie Raze.
Tickets are $20 and can be purchased by contacting Heather Estee via phone at (978) 771-1446 or via email at Tickets will also be available at the door.
