This fall, director Jay Childs will release "Food Fight," a documentary film about the Demoulas' family feud for control of the Market Basket supermarket chain.
That feud climaxed in the summer of 2014, when thousands of Market Basket employees and millions of shoppers staged a work stoppage and boycott, bringing the company to its knees. It was the largest non-union work stoppage in U.S. history.
On Monday, the blog site wearemarketbasket.com, which had served as an online base of operations for employees during the work stoppage, posted the following information about the movie:"

Food Fight!

We received this email from Jay Childs earlier today:

“Good morning we are contacting you to announce the First Official Trailer for the coming documentary film, “Food Fight – Inside the Battle for Market”. The trailer can be viewed at www.FoodFightFilm.com. If you’d be willing to post this to the SMB Page and wearemarketbasket.com site with a link to our site we’d very much appreciate it.

Thank you! Jay Childs, Director.”

As most of you know, Jay started covering our story very early on and stayed with it through the conclusion and beyond. Along the way he earned the trust of many and was considered ‘one of us’ as he documented all that we were fighting for. His successful Kick Starter campaign stands as a testament of how many stakeholders wanted to see him get the project to the light of day.

Good luck with the documentary Jay, everybody loves a good Food Fight!
