State Police Investigating Fatal Crash On 495

Last evening, at approximately 11:40 p.m., troopers from the State Police Barracks in Andover responded to reports of a two vehicle crash on Route 495 North, resulting in one fatality.
Information collected in the investigation by Trooper Brian Murphy indicated that a 24 year old man, identified as Dana Fields of Haverhill, was traveling on Route 495 North in the area of exit 37 (Woburn St./Billerica St.) on a 2013 Harley Davidson motorcycle when he rear-ended a tractor trailer unit. FIELDS was thrown from the motorcycle and was determined deceased at the scene.

The facts and circumstances of the crash remain under investigation with the assistance of the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section (CARS) and the State Police Crime Scene Services Section.

Also assisting at the scene were Lowell Fire and EMS, Mass DOT and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
