Tewksbury Teen Seriously Injured In Motorcycle Crash

A Tewksbury teen sustained life-threatening injuries Saturday night, when the motorcycle he was riding slammed into a utility pole on South Street, near Mollie Drive.
The victim, identified only as a 19-year-old male, was transported my Med-flight to a trauma unit at an unidentified Boston hospital.
According to scanner reports, Dispatch received a 911 call at around 9:20 p.m. reporting a motorcycle accident with serious injuries. Emergency crews responded to the scene quickly from nearby South Fire Station and immediately requested the Med-Flight helicopter.
The victim was treated at the scene and then quickly transported by ambulance to the parking lot behind John Ryan's Pub on Main Street where he was transferred to the helicopter and flown to the trauma unit. His condition was not immediately available.
No additional vehicles appear to have been involved in the crash.
Tewksbury Police are working with the State Police Accident Reconstruction Team to determine a cause of the accident.
