UPDATE, 11:30 p.m.: The vehicle that crossed the yellow lines and struck the other two vehicles had originally been identified as a Cadillac by a Fire Department spokesman. However, a relative of the victim contacted Your Tewksbury Today and said the vehicle was a Lincoln Town Car. It has been corrected in the story.

Massachusetts State Police are investigating the cause of a three-car collision that took place Monday morning near Mahoney's Garden Center on Route 38.
According to a Tewksbury Fire Department spokesman, the crash took place around 10:45 a.m. when the driver of a Lincoln Town Car, traveling south, cross the yellow lines, sideswiped a pickup truck and then struck a third vehicle head-on.
Remarkably, the only person to sustain injuries in the collision was the driver of the Lincoln. The man, who was not identified, was taken by Med-Flight to a Boston hospital for treatment of serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
According to the Fire Department spokesman, the driver of the car that was struck head on was saved from injury when her air bags deployed. She got out of her car right away and rushed over to the Lincoln to try and assist that driver before emergency crews arrived, said the spokesman.
Police immediately shut down Route 38 in both directions while paramedics attended to the injured man and State Police began their investigation. The road was re-opened at around 12:30 p.m.
