Flame-Thrower! Tewksbury's Ryan Strikes Out 20 In Victory Over Tyngsboro

Jul 29, 2015 03:14AM ● By Bill Gilman

Tewksbury 10-U pitcher Samantha Ryan struck out 20 Tyngsboro batters in a recent victory.

(Editor's note: The following information was supplied by the coaches of the Tewksbury U-10 travel softball team.)

When you think 20 strikeouts in one game, you have Roger Clemens, Kerry Wood and Randy Johnson. Now you can add Ryan.
Not Nolan Ryan!
Tewksbury softball pitcher Samantha "Bam" Ryan struck out 20 Tyngsboro batters in a 2-1 victory in a 10U MiddleEssex Summer League game at Alumni Field.
Ryan's control was incredible and her Redmen teammates had her back Dakota Malizia ripped a single up the middle to score Melanie Kaplan from second in the bottom of the seventh inning for the walk-off win. The only other out was a 1-3 Ryan to Malizia put out. Great game ladies!!!

Oh and Roger, Kerry and Randy needed nine innings to strike out 20 batters. Samantha only needed seven.
