Learn How To Survive Your First Year Of College On August 4

All events are FREE thanks to the generosity of the Friends of the Tewksbury Public Library.  (Film screenings are also co-sponsored by the Tewksbury Lions Club.)  All events are held in the library’s first-floor, air-conditioned Meeting Room.  A book selling and signing will take place after each author event.  There is no obligation to purchase a book.

Friday Night Film Screening of “The Longest Ride”
Friday, July 31, 8:30pm-10:30pm
Enjoy a screening of one of Hollywood's newest DVD releases, “The Longest Ride,” a PG-13-rated romance starring Alan Alda, Scott Eastwood and Britt Robertson.  The film is based on the Nichols Sparks novel with the same name. After an automobile crash, the lives of a young couple intertwine with a much older man, as he reflects back on a past love. Complimentary movie snacks provided.

Tips On Getting Published from ‘The Nevertheless Writers’

Are you a writer looking to get published? The Nevertheless Writers has the answers to your questions. The Writers is a cross-genre collaborative of North Shore authors including Holly Robinson, Edith Maxwell, Elizabeth Atkinson, Nancy Crochiere, and Susan Paradis. Join them for an interesting panel discussion on how to get published! There will be plenty of time for Q&A and a reception will follow.

A Book Brunch with “5 to 7”

Enjoy a screening of “5 to 7,” an R-rated comedy/drama Anton Yelchin, Glenn Close and Frank Langella.  An aspiring novelist enters into a relationship with a woman, though there’s just one catch – she’s married and the couple can only meet between the hours of 5pm and 7pm each evening. Remembering Pleasure Island with Bob McLaughlin
Thursday, August 20, 7pm-8:30pm
Relive Pleasure Island, an 80-acre theme park in Wakefield that was open from 1959 to 1969, with Bob McLaughlin, President of Friends of Pleasure Island and the author of four books on the park. This fun event will feature a musical slideshow, home movies, and more! There will be time for Q&A and story sharing!
