Tewksbury Library Now Offers Free Digital Music Online

TEWKSBURY, MA – The Tewksbury Public Library now offers cardholders access to
over 9 million songs online, including Sony Music Entertainment’s catalog of legendary

This Freegal Music Service allows the library to increase the size and diversity of its
musical collection by offering access to over 28,000 music labels from 101 different

Under the terms of the agreement, Tewksbury Public Library cardholders can
download FIVE Freegal Music MP3 files to keep each week and stream THREE hours
of music everyday at no direct cost via The library will underwrite
the purchase of the music. The Freegal Music Service also has popular music videos
for download.

Over 5,000 libraries around the world subscribe to the Freegal Music Service, including
the Los Angeles Public Library (CA), Maricopa County Library District (AZ), The
Edmonton Public Library (AB), Orange County Public Library (FL), The Biblioteche di
Bologna (IT), Nashville Public Library (TN) and Melbourne Library Service (VIC).
The Freegal Music Service has free mobile apps for registered cardholders of
subscribing libraries. The Freegal Music apps are available in the Apple® App Store
and Google Play®.

services to the community,” said Community Services Librarian Robert Hayes.
