VIDEO, PHOTOS: Tewksbury Lions Raise Nearly $10,000 With Golf Tournament, Golf Ball Drop

The Tewksbury Lions Club recently raised close to $10,000 through its annual charity golf tournament and Golf Ball Drop contest.
The 29th annual tournament, played at the Campbell Scottish Highlands Golf Course in Salem, NH, attracted 95 players. The Golf Ball Drop took place at Strongwater Farm, with the help of Tewksbury philanthropist and helicopter pilot Marc Ginsburg.
The team of Frank McLaughlin, Bill Wareham, Terry Neal and Paul Morgan took home first place in the tournament. Second place went to the team of Tony Cirella, Bob Erban and Jim Provencal. Third place went to the team of Peter Carlino, John Moreira, Ken Hague and Bob Hoare. Fourth place went to the team of Ben Crosbie, Alan Crosbie, Sam Crosbie and Ryan Capponi.
The longest drive winners were Dr. Dave Maguire and Heidi Horahan. Closest to the pin winners were Jimmy Gayne and Frank McGlaughlin. Closest to the pin co-ed winner was Squirrel Bean. Stratus Drive winner was Tom Duggan.
The winner of the Golf Ball Drop at Strongwater Farm was Kathy Svenson, who walked away with the $1,000 top prize.
Money raised through the golf tournament and ball drop will be used for eye research and several local charities, including the Tewksbury Food Pantry.
