Obituary: Anthony "Tony" Previte, 68

TEWKSBURY: Anthony “Tony” Previte, age 68, a resident of Tewksbury for 36 years, formerly of Medford, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 surrounded by his family.

He was the beloved husband of Lorraine F. (Fleischer) Previte, with whom he celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary on June 7, 2015.

Born in Boston on February 7, 1947, he was the son Anthony S. and Susan (Del-Orfano) Previte, who survive him of South Kingstown, RI.

Tony was raised in Medford and graduated from Medford High School in 1965. Tony attended Northeastern University, where he received his B.A. Degree.

Prior to his retirement, he served as Vice President and Treasurer for A.D. Handy Audio Visual Company in Boston, where he worked for 35 years.

During the mid-1990’s, Tony served as President and Coach for the Tewksbury Youth Soccer Program. He coached numerous boys and girls travel soccer teams and was influential in the creation and dedication of the Sal Frasca Memorial Soccer Fields in Tewksbury.

In addition to his wife, Tony is survived by three children, Chad M. Previte and his wife Holly and their son Nathan Previte all of Burlington, Steven W. Previte and his wife Julie and their children, Anthony William, Nikolas John, and Isabel Day Previte all of Andover, and Lorin A. Borba and her husband Marco and their son Owen Anthony Borba all of Littleton; two brothers, Peter Previte and his wife Lucy of Stow and Kenneth Previte of Parrish, FL; also many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Tony was the son-in-law of the late William and Dorothy Fleischer.

Calling hours are Monday, Aug. 24, from 4-8 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Family and friends are invited to meet Tuesday, Aug. 25 at 11 a.m. at the West Parish Garden Cemetery Chapel, 210 Lowell St, Rte. 133, Andover for his funeral services. Interment to follow at West Parish Garden Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Tony’s memory may be made to American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
