Rams, Redmen Roundup: Shawsheen Soccer Rallies Past Essex, TMHS Harriers Run Past Central

Shawsheen 5, Essex Tech 1
Shawsheen Tech (6-0) stayed perfect on the season with a comeback win over Essex Tech.
The Rams spotted Essex a 1-0 lead before rallying for the win. Zach Buckland had two goals and an assist to lead the Shawsheen attack. Christian Lucchesi added a goal and an assist. Nick O'Connell and Jake Lage chipped in with single goals.
Andover 1, Tewksbury 0
Tewksbury battled Andover hard for 80 minutes but dropped to 1-3-1 on the season with the loss.
Andover netted the game-winner with 25 minutes left in the second half.
Redman keeper Raf Perez had a strong game in net with eight saves. Ryan Bain and Jeff Carr played solid defensive games.

Tewksbury 3, Wilmington 0
Tewksbury (5-1) bounced back from its first loss of the season by thrashing arch-rival Wilmington.
Set scores were 25-12, 25-15 and 25-8.
SeniorNora Butler had 7 kills, 5 digs and 3 aces to pace the Redmen. Adrianna Favreau added 4 kills, 5 aces and 5 digs. Christina Noyes also played well.
Notre Dame 3, Shawsheen 2
Shawsheen Tech (4-1) suffered its first loss of the season in a five-set war with Notre Dame Academy (5-2).
Down 2-0, the Rams rallied to win games 3 and 4 but ran out of gas in the final set. Set scores were 25-15, 25-13, 23-25, 21-25, 15-5.
Outside hitter Lauren Beachy played a strong game to lead the Rams.
Shawsheen Tech 9, Northeast 0
Senior Matt Paolicelli fired a 2-over 37 to lead Shawsheen (2-4) to the easy league win.
Ryan Donnell and Adam Clayton each shot a 41 for the Rams.
Tewksbury 17, Methuen 3
The Tewksbury Redmen continued a very busy week by defeating the Methuen Rangers 17-3 at Trull Brook Golf Course. Winners for the Redmen were Seniors Sam Canelas, 1 Up, Jonathan Verrill, 2&1, and Alex Froment, 3&1. Sophomores Bill Giasullo, 4&3, Ben McKay, 2 Up, and Johnny Spinelli, 4&2, were also victorious in their individual matches. Senior Tom McKenna flatted his individual match earning a point as well. Best Ball winners for Tewksbury were Sam Canelas & Owen MacEachern, 2&1, Tom McKenna & Bill Giasullo, 4&3, Jonathan Verrill & Ben McKay, 2&1 and Alex Froment & Johnny Spinelli, 4&2.
Haverhill 19, Tewksbury 1
On a great afternoon, the Tewksbury Memorial high School Redmen hosted the Hillies from Haverhill in a MVC II - MVC I crossover match in which the Hillies showed their dominance and depth defeating the upstart Redmen 19-1. Tewksbury's lone point came from number 1 player Sam Canelas (39) flatted Sean Bellemore (37). Tewksbury moves to 5-3 on the season while Haverhill moves to 4-1. The Redmen continue their very busy week with a road match at Chelmsford Country Club tomorrow.
