Mrs. Eleanor Mary (O’Brien) Fitzgerald, age 89,
TEWKSBURY - Mrs. Eleanor Mary (O’Brien) Fitzgerald, age 89, a former Boston bank mortgage originator, died Sunday, September 20th, at the Blaire House of Tewksbury. She was born in Roxbury, in April 1926, the daughter of the late Frank and Alta May (Hutchins) O’Brien.
Eleanor was raised in Roslindale and Jamaica Plain, and lived in Everett before moving to Tewksbury in 1987. After her graduation from Roslindale High School she began work at the Boston Five Cent Savings Bank, which merged into Citizens Bank, where she worked as a Mortgage Originator at the School Street, Boston Headquarters of the Bank.
In her later years she was an active participant in greater Tewksbury Bingo circles.
She is survived by a daughter, Nancy E. Morrell and her husband Kenneth of Tewksbury, with whom she resided; a son, Joseph F. Fitzgerald and his wife Carol (Godfrey) of Malden; two grandchildren, Daniel S. Morrell and Nicole E. Morrell both of Tewksbury; a brother, Frank O’Brien and his wife Helen of Needham; and was sister of the late Helen M. Cote, Robert J. O’Brien, and Ruth A. Chancey.
Visiting hours will be held Saturday, October 3, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. in the Tewksbury Funeral Home, corner of 1 Dewey and 975 Main Sts. (Rte 38) TEWKSBURY CENTER, Ph. (800 in MA or 978) 851 2950. Her Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
