Rams, Redmen Roundup: TMHS Volleyball Locks Up Tournament Berth, Donahue Sisters Pace Field Hockey Win

The Tewksbury volleyball team prepares to take on Lawrence.

Field Hockey

Tewksbury 3, Lawrence 0

Emily Donahue had a goal and an assist to lead Tewksbury past Lawrence. Megan Donahue and Ally Kelly also scored for the Redmen.

Isabella Desroche earned the shutout in net.

Boys Cross Country

Shawsheen 18, Chelsea 39
Greater Lowell 21, Shawsheen 36
Shawsheen 20, Greater Lawrence 35

Jake Ferri placed second overall to lead Shawsheen Tech to two victories in a quad meet. 

RJ Page placed sixth overall, followed by teammate Andrew McCarthy. Connor Larsson placed ninth overall.

Dracut 22, Tewksbury 33
Tewksbury 23, Billerica 34

Tewksbury improved to 5-4 on the season, splitting a double-dual meet with Dracut and Billeica.

Shawsheen Tech fell to 6-2 on the season after dropping two of three in a quad meet.

Girls Cross Country

Tewksbury 24, Dracut 35

The Tewksbury girls cross country team improved to 6-2 on the season with victory over Dracut and a huge upset win over previously unbeaten Billerica (8-1).

Tewksbury fell to 8-8 on the season with losses to Billerica and Burlington.

Ben McKay and Colby Pierce each fired 41 to lead the Redmen. Josh Asselin shot 44 and Nick Walsh fired 45.


Tewksbury 3, Lawrence 0

Tewksbury High (10-2) locked up a state tournament berth with a shutout of Lawrence High.

Set scores were 25-13, 25-15, 25-11.

Molly Robertson paced the Redmen attack with 9 kills, 4 blocks and 4 digs. Kendall Paolella added 7 kills and 4 blocks. Catherine Butler had 12 assists.

Boys Soccer

Shawsheen 4, Minuteman 0

Zach Buckland, playing just one half in the field, had a pair of goals to lead Shawsheen Tech to a convicing win over Minuteman Tech.

Nick O'Connell annd Matt Galante also scored for the Rams. Christian Lucchesi chipped in with two assists.

Tyler Boutwell and Buckland shared goaltending duty to earn the shutout.
