Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan announced that John Miller, 29, of Milford, New Hampshire, was arraigned yesterday on 20 weapons-related charges including firearms trafficking, unlicensed sale of an assault weapon, possession of a firearm without a license, and multiple counts of possession of large capacity firearms and ammunition.
Judge Michael Brooks set bail at $20,000 cash and ordered the defendant to wear a GPS monitoring device, and to not leave Massachusetts. The next scheduled hearing in this case is Tuesday, November 17.
On Tuesday, Oct. 20, the Tewksbury Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) arrested the defendant as part of a joint criminal investigation into an individual attempting to illegally sell firearms. The defendant allegedly sold the firearms and ammunition to an undercover ATF agent. He did not have a firearms dealer’s license, a license to carry in Massachusetts, or a firearms identification card.
The Tewksbury Police Department, ATF, and the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office are investigating this incident.
These charges are allegations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
The prosecutor assigned to this case is Assistant District Attorney Jason Chandler.
