Forty parents of freshman at TMHS listened to Guidance and Administration concerning their children’s start of high school.
Karen Baker O’Brien, Guidance Department leader, and Kristen Vogel, TMHS Principal, explained and detailed the different and varied aspects and experiences that are available at TMHS.
Coming soon to TMHS are a new academic schedule, students ability to participate in full and semester courses, TMHS revamping graduation requirements and the ability for students to have more academic opportunities.
In addition, goals for students include a variety of extended learning opportunities that include on-line learning, service projects and dual enrollment.
Parents learned of a wide variety of Advanced Placement courses, the Introduction to Heath Careers/CAN course and a MAC Media Production course, Robotics, Forensic Science, Senior Art Studio and Engineering and Design I, II, and III.
“ Tewksbury Memorial High School is such a wonderful place to learn and grow. The many exciting changes and opportunities for students makes our school the place to be for high school”, Karen Baker O’Brien said.
The many co-curricular opportunities include athletics, clubs, and other after school learning choices.
Parents were led through the four-year pathway from freshman to college planning. The use of Naviance for students and parents as well as a learning style inventory of students ensure academic success for students.
