The Tewksbury Fire Department and the Tewksbury Public Schools’ four elementary schools participated in a fire safety program this week. Students from the Dewing, North Street, Heath Brook and Trahan listened and learned aspects of home fire safety. Firefighters from the Tewksbury Fire Department explained the lessons for the students.

“The elementary schools fire safety program fits nicely into the Tewksbury Public Schools’ overall safety program. All aspects of safety are important to all concerned here in the District”, Superintendent of Schools John O’Connor said.

Aspects of the program are to learn a second exit in case of an emergency, household fire hazards such as a stove or coffee maker and in the event of a fire get low and roll.
