Rams, Redmen Tournament Roundup: TMHS Field Hockey Falls, Soccer In Action Today

Weston 7, Tewksbury High 2
No. 12 Tewksbury High's trip to the State Tournament was brief, with a a 7-2 loss to No. 5 Weston (13-3-) in the opening round of the Division 2 North Sectional.
Megan Donahue and Emily Donahue each scored in the loss. With Tewksbury's starting goalie out of action due to injury, Taylor Ward, who normally plays forward, stepped in to play goalie for the first time ever.
The Redmen close out the season at 7-11-1.
The Tewksbury High boys soccer team (7-8-3) is seeded 10th in the Division 3 North Sectional and is in action today (Nov. 5) on the road at No. 7 North Reading (7-4-7) at 4:30 p.m.
With a win there, Tewksbury would advance to the quarterfinals against No. 2 Marblehead (12-3-3).
Shawsheen Tech is the No. 4 seen in the Division 2 North Sectional. After a first-round bye, the Rams (13-2-3) will open tournament play on Friday at home, at 2 p.m., against No. 13 Arlington (10-5-4).
Tewksbury High (8-7-3) is seeded No. 11 in the Division 3 North Sectional. The Redmen will open play today (Nov. 5) on the road at No. 6 Whittier Tech (12-3-2).
North Reading 2, Shawsheen Tech 1
Shawsheen Tech was seeded No. 12 in the Division 3 North Tournament. The Rams fell to No. 5 North Reading (14-3-2) in the opening round of the tournament. Shawsheen Tech finished its season at 9-9-1.
Tewksbury High (17-3) is the No. 6 seed in the highly competitive Division 2 North Sectional. The Redmen will host No. 11 Hamilton-Wenham (12-6) in the opening round on Friday, Nov. 6, at 7 p.m., in the TMHS gym.
Shawsheen Tech (17-3) snagged the No. 2 seed in the Division 3 North Sectional. The Rams get a first round bye and will host either No. 7 Snowden (10-6) or No. 10 St. Joseph (10-9) in the second round on Saturday, Nov. 7 at 6 p.m.
