Tewksbury Public Library Launches Veterans Oral History Project

Nov 08, 2015 09:24PM ● By Robert Hayes

The Tewksbury Public Library Veterans Oral History Project aims to collect, preserve, and make accessible the personal accounts of American war veterans so that future generations may hear directly from veterans and better understand the realities of war. In addition, civilians who were actively involved in supporting war efforts (such as war industry workers, USO workers, flight instructors, medical volunteers, etc.) are also invited to share their valuable stories.

If you are interested in participating, please contact Corinn Flaherty at 978-640-4490 x 207, or email to set up an appointment to share your important history.

Interviews will be conducted in a private room at the library. Each session will take approximately thirty minutes to an hour. Sessions will be audio-recorded and the recordings will be added to the library’s permanent collection and uploaded to the Internet Archive ( ) where they will be accessible to the public at large;.
