Billerica Man Arrested For Heroin Distribution

11.5 grams of heroin seized in the arrest of Robert Carter.
A Billerica man is facing drug and motor vehicle charges, following his arrest, Friday evening.
Robert Carter, 54, 45 Oak Stree, Billerica was arrested as the result of a joint operation conducted by Tewksbury and Andover Police.
According to Chief Timothy Sheehan, detectives from the Tewksbury Police Department and the Andover Police Department were conducting surveillance on Woburn Street in Tewksbury for narcotics transactions.
During the moving and stationary surveillance, Tewksbury Detectives stopped a vehicle driven by Carter on the southbound side of I-495. As a result of that stop and a brief investigation, Carter was arrested and charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class A Substance (heroin), Operating a Motor Vehicle with Revoked License and a Marked Lanes Violation.
Approximately 11.5 grams of heroin was seized as a result of Carter’s arrest.
According to Sheehan, Carter is due to be arraigned at Lowell District Court on Monday, Nov. 16.
