Youngsters Help Tewksbury High Cross Country Teams Advance To All-State Meet

Alec Hirtle placed 11th overall for Tewksbury at the North Sectional Cross Country Championships.

Led by freshman Lily Robinson and sophomore Alex Hirtle, the Tewksbury High boys and cross country teams have both qualified for the All-State meet next weekend.
Hirtle placed 11th overall in the Division 4 North Sectional at Wrentham, in a time of 11:05.87, leading the Redmen boys to a 5th place team finish (160 points). Marblehead won the team title with 34 points.
Senior Mario Fuchu completed the 5K course in 17:27.43 to place 27th overall. Senior Rory Foley was 38th in 17:46.30. Junior Ben Forest placed 41st in 17:50.69. Junior Joey McNeil placed 46th in 17:55.29, with sophomore Joey Forest in 47th in 17:55.61.
Robinson placed 10th overall in the girls race, leading Tewksbury to a 2nd place finish with 91 points. Milton won the team title with 46.
Robinson was the second fastest freshman in the Division 4 race, crossing the line in a time of 19:47.40.
Junior Lauren Polimeno placed 16th overall for Tewksbury in 20:04.10. Freshman Devyn Veits was 19th in 20:10.71. Senior Kirsten Dick placed 22nd in 20:13.70. Sophomore Holly O'Leary placed 24th in 20:15.55. Junior Sophia Calvo placed 30th in 20:38.80.
The All-State Meet will take place Nov. 21 at Stanley Park in Wakefield.
