TEWKSBURY - Edward J. Sarsfield, age 77, a former manager for Fuller Company in Wilmington, died peacefully at the Life Care Center in North Billerica Saturday morning, November 28, 2015, after a long period of declining health. He was the beloved husband of Ann T. (Burke) Sarsfield, with whom he had celebrated a fifty-sixth wedding anniversary on November 15th.
Ed was born in Cambridge, one of six children of the late Bernard and Frances Mary (Welch) Sarsfield. He was raised in Medford, and graduated from St. Clement High School in Somerville. He matriculated to Lowell Technical Institute, which became U-Lowell, where he earned a Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering.
He served in the U.S. Army, just after the Cuban Missile Crisis in the 1960’s.
Ed retired as the Plant Manager for Fuller Company, chemical manufacturing in Wilmington after more than thirty years of service.
Ed and Ann moved to the Eagles Landing community in Tewksbury in 1999. Ed was remembered as an avid gardener and voracious reader. He and Ann enjoyed travel throughout New England.
He leaves three daughters, Denise Carpenter and her husband Jim of Dracut, Sharon Doyle and her husband Charles of Bristol, NH, and Leslie McLaughlin and her life partner Jill Ravis of Colorado Springs, CO; four beloved grandchildren, Benjamin Carpenter, Brian Doyle, Andrew Doyle, and Samuel Edward Travis.
Memorial Visiting Hours Thursday, December 3, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 in the Tewksbury Funeral Home, corner of 1 Dewey and 975 Main Sts. (Rte. 38) TEWKSBURY CENTER, Ph.
