Homeland Security Alert Leads To Arrest Of Tewksbury Man On Weapons Charges

A Tewksbury man is facing multiple charges after he was found to be illegally in possession of several weapons and hundreds of rounds of ammunition.
Ronald Moore, 46, of 8 Tanager Road, was arrested on Tuesday, after Tewksbury Police executed a search warrant at his home.
According to Chief of Police Timothy Sheehan, the TPD was notified earlier in the day by Homeland Security and told that a Tewksbury residents, identified as Moore, was unlawfully in possession of firearms.
"A thorough investigation was conducted by the Tewksbury Detectives, which resulted in the issuance and execution of a search warrant at 8 Tanager Road in Tewksbury," said Sheehan.
A search of the residence found four guns and several boxes of ammunition. Moore was placed under arrest and charged with four counts of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, three counts of Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, and Failure to Surrender Firearms.
He was arraigned Wednesday in Lowell District Court.
It was not immediately clear if Moore was never in possession of a license to own the firearms or if his FID card had been revoked for some reason.
