UPDATED: Storm Causes Multiple Accidents, Power Outages Impacting More Than 1,000 Homes

It's not exactly "Snowtober" or "Snowmageddon" but Friday's snowfall has caused headaches for drivers and homeowners around Tewksbury.
Tewksbury Police are reporting several car accidents, mostly involving cars sliding off the roads.  A multi-car accident was reported around 1:45 p.m. on Clark Road near Country Club Road. Police are advising drivers to use caution if they must be on the roads during the storm.
As of 8 p.m., National Grid was reporting 53 small power outages throughout the town. These outages are impacting nearly 1,200 National Grid customers.
National Grid reports efforts to restore power are ongoing but may not be completed until Saturday night.

In other storm news:
  • Tewksbury High School has cancelled all athletic contests for today.
  • Tewksbury Police report a tree has fallen across 1095 Livingston St. and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
  • Power lines also down on Debra Drive near Pleasant Street. Communication lines down Foster near Chandler, one lane passable.
