For residents and members of the business community looking for a new way to make a difference this year, joining the local chapter of The Rotary Club might make the perfect opportunity.

The Rotary Club of Tewksbury is seeking new members! This Rotary Club consists of an engaged group of business, professional, and community leaders, passionate about community service in Tewksbury and around the world.

Recognized for its community involvement, the Rotary Club of Tewksbury has sponsored several local and international service projects, including providing over $10,000 in scholarships to local students in the last five years, helped build and maintain a pavilion near the Livingston Street playground with new tables this year, provided support for Tewksbury Hospital patients and the Public History Museum, helped fund a Solar Power Refrigeration Project in Peru, and assisted with funding Liam Nation, Recreational Adult Resource Organization, Tewksbury Cheerleading, and much more.

The Rotary Club of Tewksbury also partners with Tewksbury Memorial High School to sponsor Hats Off, a monthly program that recognizes graduating seniors for outstanding contributions to the community.  We also sponsor an Interact, a TMHS student organization aimed at community service.

Coming up in April is the annual Taste of the Town event, a major fundraiser for the Club, which invites guests to try the tastiest dishes from local restaurants and vote for their favorites. The event sells out every year and provides funding for scholarships and other giving opportunities.

Guests and potential members are always welcome to attend a weekly lunch meeting, every Thursday at 12:15 at Tewksbury Country Club. Meetings begin with a business update, occasionally followed by a speaker. The meetings end promptly within an hour.

Formed in 1905, Rotary International is the world's first service club organization with over 1.2 million members in 34,000 clubs worldwide. The Tewksbury club serves the Town of Tewksbury and is part of Rotary District 7910, which consists of 52 Rotary clubs in central Massachusetts. Nearly 2,000 business and professional men and women in District 7910 give life to the Rotary motto, "Service Above Self."
