Rams, Redmen Roundup: TMHS Girls Hoops Makes Final Of Sheridan Tournament

Tewksbury 41, Bedford 39
The Tewksbury High girls basketball team reached the final of the Sheridan Tournament in Marblehead with a 41-39 win over Bedford on Tuesday. The Redmen will play for the title on Thursday at 4 p.m. against the winner of the Pope John/Marblehead game.
The game was tight from start to finish, with the Redmen up 9-7 after one quarter and the teams tied at 21-21 going into halftime. Tewksbury opened up a modest 30-26 lead after three quarters and build the lead to 38-31 with just over one minute to play before holding off a furious Bedford comeback attempt.
Emily Velozo led Tewksbury with 15 points.
Shawsheen Tech 53, Notre Dame 29
Shawsheen Tech (10-7) clinched a berth in the State Tournament with a convincing 53-29 win over NDA.
Junior Tara Mickle had 13 points and pulled down 11 rebounds to lead the Rams. Holly DeCourcey added 11 points in a balanced attack for the Rams.
Marlboro 63, Tewksbury 42
Sophomore David Guggio pumped in 18 points, but it wasn't enough, as Tewksbury (12-7) fell to Central Mass. powerhouse Marlboro in the opening round of the Comcast Tournament in Woburn.
Adam Gajjaoui chipped in with 10 points for Tewksbury.
Woburn 65, Tewksbury 45
Tewksbury fell to 12-8 on the season with a 65-45 loss to Woburn in the consolation game of the Comcast Tournament.
Senior guard Ryan Briggs dropped in10 points points to lead the Redmen offense.
Girls HockeyTewksbury/Methuen 1, Haverhill 1
The Red Rangers (16-0-3) battled to a hard fought tie against Haverhill.
Kelly Golini had the lone goal for Tewksbury/Methuen.
Tewksbury/Methuen 4, Concord-Carlisle 1
Four unanswered goals in the third period carried the unbeaten Red Rangers past Concord-Carlisle, 4-1.
With the win, Tewksbury/Methuen ((6-0-2, 11-0-2 league) clinched the MVC/DCL Small School Championship.
Eryn Taber had a pair of goals to lead the Red Rangers. Kat LeFebvre and Niamh Cote also scored. Kelley Golini added three assists.
Tewksbury 5, Methuen 0
Tewksbury High improved to 13-4-2 on the season by blanking Methuen, 5-0.
Goalie Chris Raymond notched the shutout with16 saves.Dom Raneri had two goals and an assist to pace the Redmen attack. Dario Riparo added a goal and two assists., Richard Collarusso and Steve Hamel also scored.
