Robert Rosa, Candidate For Selectman: My Passion And Experience Will Be A Great Addition To The Board

Mar 02, 2016 10:58AM ● By Bill Gilman

Hello, my name is Robert Rosa, and I have decided to enter the race for a seat on the Board of Selectmen.  My wife (Kimberley), our three boys (Stephen, Brandon & Michael), and my mother (Rosemarie) have all lived together in Tewksbury for over 16+ years.  All of my children currently attend Tewksbury Public Schools, and are active in many youth and high school sports.

I would like to outline my background a little bit before getting into why I decided to run for office. I am a graduate of Somerville High School, Class of 1986, Suffolk University, BSBA in Accounting, 1990, Suffolk University, MBA 1993.  I have held many financial/accounting positions during my career, but for the past 15 years, I have been employed by Cisco Systems, Inc. in various capacities (finance, operations, &sales), but most recently, as a Partner Service Sales Director.  I am active in town sports from a coaching perspective, but my passion has become Tewksbury Youth Football and Cheerleading.  I have been associated with the program for over 12+ years, and have been President for the last 5 years. In that time, we have seen the program expand, and have invested in keeping the appearance of Dell-Rossi football field area impeccable.

I have been asked by many individuals, why now?  I believe it is a great time to be part of Tewksbury and part of the Board of Selectmen who can continue to improve the town. We have made significant strides to improve the community through a new high school, renovating town hall, building the senior center, town wide sewer and focusing on economic development.   But, there is still more that needs to be done, and I believe my background, my experience and my passion for Tewksbury will be a great addition to the board.

When I am elected to the Board of Selectmen, I will focus on economic development (both commercial and residential), town beautification (Town Center, Recreation Area, and Route 38), address the need for a new fire station & elementary schools, and enhance the citizen experience when conducting business within the town.

I hope on some level I can connect with you through my experiences, my passion and my future outlook for the town of Tewksbury.  I look forward to the election, I ask for your vote on April 2nd, but more important, I ask that you exercise your right to vote and have a say in the town election.

Rob Rosa
