Why Anne Marie Stronach for Selectman? Why now? Why again?
I was honored to serve as a Tewksbury Selectman from 2007 – 2013.My focus was the budget. My job was to listen to the residents and bring their voices to the table when difficult decisions were required. In the words of Bill Belichick: “Do your job”, I did and will to do it again for the residents of Tewksbury as your selectman.
My first action on the board was to serve on a newly formed Financial Task Force committee. The committee, chaired by Jay Kelley, spent endless hours meeting with every town department head, every elected board, appointed town committees, our state delegation and worked closely with the town’s Finance Committee and produced recommendations. Many of the recommendations were implemented to assist the town in improving our financial health.
I stayed connected with the community by serving on many committees, participated in countless town activities and attended numerous Tewksbury events. My experiences on these committees taught me
- It takes work to get the facts.
- True collaboration matters.
- Compromise is not a dirty word.
- Every decision and vote has an impact on the town.
- Leave nothing unsaid. Ask the tough questions.
Most importantly, as your selectman I will be approachable and accountable to every town resident. My duty is to serve the town of Tewksbury with integrity and transparency.
My mission is to
- Advocate on behalf of the Tewksbury residents
- Make informed decisions.
- Ask the difficult questions.
- Work collaboratively with all town boards and committees realizing the Board of Selectman cannot do it alone.
While not all of my votes will prevail, you will know the best interest of the town IS my priority. I will “DO MY JOB”!
Thank you for your vote on Saturday, April 2nd, 2016.
