Police Log: Taxi Driver Robbed, Car Crash Sends Two To Hospital

A Tewksbury man is facing multiple charges, after allegedly robbing a taxi driver on Tuesday.
According to Tewksbury Police, the taxi driver walked into Police Headquarters on March 15 and reported he had just been robbed by a man he had picked up on a fare and then dropped off at the intersection of Cart Path Road and Carter Street.
Four officers were sent to the area where the robbery took place and located a suspect nearby. After a brief foot pursuit, officers arrested Michael Patrick Kelleher, 21, 211 Cart Path Road, Tewksbury, and charged him with larceny from a person, resisting arrest, larceny over $250 and evading a taxi fare.

A Peabody man is facing larceny charges after being caught in the act of stealing tires from a local auto dealership.
According to Tewksbury Police, Dispatch received a call just before 5 a.m. on Monday, March 14, from USA Security. The caller reported that their company is remotely monitoring the Ira Nissan dealership, 623 Main St. He said a minivan was seen driving onto the lot. A man got out and began loading tires from a pile and loading them into the vehicle.
Four officers were sent to the scene and arrested Vincent C. Elder, 56, 23 A Collins St., Peabody. He is charged with larceny over $250.

  • Jacqueline C. Clement, 49, 43 Summer St., Lowell, was arrested on March 18 on a warrant for shoplifting.
  • Donald R. Dennison, 53, 17 Court St., Lowell, was arrested March 18 on a warrant for assault and a warrant for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
  • Fausto Enrique Mora, 54, 95 Main St., Tewksbury, was arrested March 18 on a warrant for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.
  • Frankie R. Negron, 26, 19 Bower St. #2, Lowell, was arrested March 17 on a warrant for shoplifting.
  • James L. Munn, 29, 139 Lincoln St. #3, Worcester, was arrested on a warrant for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. He was also charged with disturbing the peace.

  • Wednesday, March 16, 6:50 p.m. -- Police received multiple 911 calls regarding a two-vehicle rollover crash near 1319 Main St. at the corner of Hill Crest Road. Dispatch sent a full emergency response. Ambulance A-1 requested a second ambulance and A-3 responded. A-1 brought a victim to LGH-Saints Campus for treatment of injuries. A-3 took a second victim to the Lahey Clinic in Burlington for treatment of their injuries. Penny's was called to to tow both vehicles.
  • Thursday,. March 17, 12:35 p.m. --  A man walked into Police Headquarters and wanted to talk to an officer about someone taking his I-Phone. An officer spoke with the man and a report was filed. 
  • Thursday, March 17, 4:18 p.m. -- Dispatch began receiving calls about gusty winds taking down trees and limbs. A caller from Astle Street reported a tree came down in front of

     their  home and took down some wires. Responding officers reported the wires were not in the road. A short time later, a caller from Grove Street reported a tree had fallen across the road, taking down wires. In both instances, National Grid was notified and responded.
  • Wednesday, March 16, 11:48 a.m. -- The manager of Citizens Bank, 295 Main St., called Police and reported the bank had been the victim of fraud. The manager said two women came into the bank and cashed two checks that turned out to be fraudulent. Three units were sent to the scene. The suspects were last seen in a rented white SUV with New Jersey plates. An officer was headed over to Enterprise Rent A Car to gather information on the person who rented the SUV. A report was filed.
