Election 2016 Endorsement: Polimeno Has This Reader's Support For Re-Election

To the Editor:

Over the past six years Tewksbury has built a new high school, improved its curriculum, increased the number of educational opportunities it offers, and increased per pupil spending by 30%.  Middle school students can study a foreign language, take a trip to New York or DC, or participate in DramaFest.  The high school is improving its block schedule and offering more electives to the students.  Our students are excelling in the classroom and on the playing fields.  I believe that these improvements are a direct reflection of the passion and leadership Krissy Polimeno has brought throughout her years of service on the School Committee.  Some people run for political office because of a desire to serve while others seek office to resolve their own agendas.  I see it at the local, state, and national level.  After six years on the school committee it is as clear today as it was when I first voted for Krissy that she wants nothing more than to serve the children of Tewksbury and she has done a tremendous job.

What really proved to me that the schools are on the right track is that after years of struggling with retention at the high school level, enrollment is steadily increasing.  When I brought home the info from the TMHS Parent Information Night and showed it to my 8th grader, she got excited about going to TMHS.  If the TMHS curriculum, activities, and electives are good enough to get a teenager excited about going to high school I think that speaks volumes about how great a job the School Committee has done.

Our school system is moving forward in the right direction and I proudly support Krissy Polimeno’s campaign for re-election and urge the voters of Tewksbury to go to the polls on April 2nd and cast your vote for her.
