To the Editor:
We have had the pleasure of getting to know Krissy Polimeno over the past several years through her involvement in Tewksbury Girls Basketball and we are enthusiastically endorsing her for re-election to the Tewksbury School Committee. Krissy is energetic and committed to whatever she takes on. She cares deeply about ALL the children in the school system and works diligently to make sure the town provides the best possible education for our students. Krissy’s background in education has given her the ability to effectively work with the children she coaches, and gives her an advantage when determining the best direction for our school system to go. In her role as scheduler for TGBL, she has demonstrated strong organizational and collaboration skills and has instituted a new cloud based scheduling system for the league which has improved communication between the youth programs using the town’s gyms. She has been an active volunteer in community groups as well as school groups. She has been involved in a number of the recent improvements our school system has undergone, including the construction of the new high school, the hiring of our current and future superintendents, the hiring of the new TMHS principal and the reconfiguration of the high school schedule. She is creative in her thinking, while keeping the fiscal health of the town in mind. As the parents of 4 children, 3 of whom have graduated from the Tewksbury School system, and 1 still attending, we are very happy with the direction the school system has taken in recent years. We are confident that Krissy will continue to be a positive contributor to the School Committee and will continue to work hard to improve the educational opportunities for ALL of our students. The quality of the school system should be important to every member of this town, not just the parents of school age children. Krissy’s background, experience and commitment to positive change make her the ideal candidate for School Committee and we hope that you will vote for her on April 2.
