Wamesit Lanes Person Of The Week: Sue PanilaitisMar 30, 2016 07:51PM ● By Bill Gilman
Wamesit Lanes Person of the Week Sue Panilaitis, right, stands with her son Jack, along with Wamesit Lanes Facilities Manager J. Caswell.
If you take an overview of the life of Sue Panilaitis, two words stand out -- service and education.
It's only slight hyperbole to say Sue has never come across a worthy cause she was unwilling to help out with and never misses an opportunity to teach, either by word or example.
The primary benefits of her lessons are her seven sons, four of whom were taken in by her and her husband, Bruce, as foster children.
Sue was nominated to be Wamesit Lanes Person of the Week by her 13-year-old son, Jack. His letter, printed below, proves he has been paying close attention to his mother's efforts.
I would like to nominate my mother, Sue Panilaitis, to be the Person of the Week. She does many things around our community,She is the Co-chair of the Heath Brook/Trahan Pac.She is the Director of Religious Education at the Tewksbury Congregational Church, but she exceeds expectations by volunteering in the church and doing more then her share. She also serves on the Tewksbury Habitat Build Board and she is working incredibly hard on the upcoming Harlem Wizard basketball game. She has volunteered to lead a mission trip to Laeger, WV this April. She teaches young elementary kids in Lowell how to read. The amazing thing is she does this all while raising my six brothers and I, four of which are foster brothers.
For being named Wamesit Lanes Person of the Week, Sue Panilaitis receives a gift card to Wamesit Lanes Family Entertainment Center.
Do you know a friend, neighbor or family member who deserves a pat on the back for something cool they've done? Nominate them for Person of the Week by emailing their name, along with the reason they should be honored, to Bill@yourtewksburytoday.com.
