Greater Lawrence Family Health Center (GLFHC), the main sponsoring organization for the GLFHC/Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (MCPHS) pharmacy residency, is proud to announce Tewksbury native Alana Regan as a successful resident match during the annual “Match Day” in March.
This will mark the third pharmacy residency class which begins this July.
“The world of pharmacy is rapidly evolving,” according to Alicia Mam daCunha, GLFHC Clinical Pharmacy Administrator and Pharmacy Residency Director. “Here at GLFHC, our 340B pharmacies are able to take advantage of our location, technology, and multidisciplinary team to advance patient care.
"Our pharmacists and pharmacy technicians are grateful to have established so many great relationships within our healthcare team. Without those relationships, our clinical pharmacy team would not have been able to grow at this pace,” said daCunha.
“This year, 19 applications were received for the program,” states John Silva, GLFHC President and Chief Executive Officer. “I’m proud to welcome Alana to GLFHC and The Family Pharmacy. Our patients are the beneficiaries of high quality care by our pharmacy team, both in our clinics and through our community partners. We are proud to be training the pharmacists of tomorrow help expand health care beyond the treatment room or the pharmacy bench.”
Alana isn’t new to GLFHC, as she performed her pharmacy clerkship rotation here at the health center. Currently, she attends Western New England University focusing on her doctorate in Pharmacy. When she’s not practicing medicine, In her free time Alana enjoys long-distance running, spending time with family and friends, listening to music, and baking.
