A 64-year-old Tewksbury man is due back in court May 3, charged with drugging and raping a woman.
Richard Leone was arraigned in Middlesex County Superior Court in Woburn on Tuesday, charged with rape, indecent assault and battery on a person over the age of 14, and drugging a person for sexual intercourse.
Leone was released on personal recognizance after pleading not guilty to all counts.
According to prosecutors, the incident took place Jan. 5 at a Tewksbury residence. Leone is alleged to have slipped some type of unspecified medication into the victim's beverage to kncok her out. Once the victim was incapacitated, Leone allegedly sexually assaulted her.
According to court documents, the judge ordered Leone to have no contact with the victim in the case and abide by an existing restraining order. He was also ordered to undergo random drug tests and have no illegal drugs or prescription medications without a prescription.
