The 13U Tewksbury Chiefs baseball team split with the Saugus Wings on Saturday 4/23. Game one was a 7-4 loss highlighted by a stellar relief pitching performance by Will McKay, striking out 6 batters over 5 1/3 innings of work, allowing 3 runs on 1 walk and 3 hits.

Game two was a 12-2 rout once again highlighted by an outstanding pitching performance, this time by Will O’Keefe. He struck out 7 batters over 5 innings in the mercy-shortened event. He allowed 1 earned run on 1 walk and 3 hits.

Offensively, O’Keefe led the way with 4 hits on the weekend. He was followed by 3 hits apiece from McKay, Brendan Lamothe, and Kyle McHugh. Kyle Darrigo displayed his speed, power, and knack for reaching base with an infield single, double to left center, a hit-by-pitch, and a walk. Jack Balboni and Mikey Kelly also chipped in with two hits each.
