Tewksbury High baseball falls to Billerica

Billerica 13, Tewksbury 4

Re-building Tewksbury High dropped to 1-8 on the season with a 13-4 loss at home to Billerica (6-2).

Brett Morris and Cam Legvold each went went 2-for-4 to lead the Tewksbury offense. Jeff Anderson also had two hits for the Redmen.

Lowell 9, Tewksbury 1

Tewksbury had its hands full against Lowell's Henry Funaro (10K's) in a loss under the lights. 

Jeff Anderson and Kyle Zervas paced the Tewksbury offense with two hits each. Stephen Hamel also had a hit.

Essex Tech 5, Shawsheen Tech 1

Shawsheen Tech dropped to 5-3 on the season with a loss to Essex Tech. The Rams managed just 3 hits.

Brendan O'Flaherty ripped a triple and triple and Andy Diranian singled and drove in a run for Shawsheen Tech.

Shawsheen 7, Essex Tech 6

Shawsheen Tech spotted Essex a 6-0 lead before roaring back for a thrilling victory.

Katie Stevens had two hits, two RBI and two runs scored to lead the Rams. Katelyn Logue added two hits and two RBI. Katie Welch chipped in with two RBI.

Carlee Wickwire came on in relief to pick up the win in the circle. Ari Nicosia played a strong defensive game for the Rams.

Tewksbury 6, Methuen 4

Junior Frankie Cocca went 3-for-3 with a home run and a double to lead Tewksbury past Methuen, 6-4. Cocca drove in three runs and scored three more for the Redmen.

Center fielder Marissa Doherty had three hits and drove in a pair of runs for Tewksbury. Doherty also made a stellar defensive play in the field. Erika Whynot (3-0) pitched a strong 4.1 innings to pick up the win. Adriana Favreau came on in relief, striking out five straight batters at one point, to earn the save.

Tewksbury 7, Concord-Carlisle 1

Adrianna Favreau tossed a complete-game four-hitter, striking out six to lead Tewksbury (6-1) past Concord-Carlisle.

Nora Butler ripped a triple and scored a pair of runs. Teaghan Trant also tripled, scored a run and drove in another.

Frankie Cocca played a strong defensive game in the outfield.

Boys Lacrosse
Central Catholic 16, Tewksbury 7

The Tewksbury boys lacrosse team hung close for three quarters before Central Catholic scored six times in the fourth quarter to blow the game open.

Tyler Harvey had a pair of goals to lead Tewksbury (1-7). James Cash, Brendan Sjostedt, Patrick Jollimore, Jared Ward and Grant Callanan had one goal apiece in the loss.
