Rams, Redmen Roundup: Redmen Lacrosse Wins OT Thriller, Shawsheen Baseball Routs Lynn Tech

Boys Lacrosse
Tewksbury 14, Dracut 13 (OT)
The Tewksbury boys lacrosse team spotted Dracut High an 8-0 lead before roaring back to tie the game, 12-12, with less than three minutes to play in the fourth quarter. The Redmen then pulled out the league victory in overtime.
Tewksbury didn't have as much luck against Tyngsboro, falling 15-4 in a non-league game.

Shawsheen Tech 16, Whittier 7

Tewksbury 12, North Andover 5

The Tewksbury High softball team qualified for the State Tournament for the 20th straight season with a rout of North Andover.

Tewksbury (10-1), ranked No. 5 in the latest Boston Herald Eastern Mass. Poll, got a complete game effort from pitcher Adriana Favreau. Favreau also paced a balanced offense with three hits and two runs scored. Erika Whynot also had three hits, including a double, and drove in three runs. Nora Butler had three hits and scored three times.

Kirsten Dick and Marissa Doherty chipped in with two hits each.

Whittier 6, Shawsheen 5

Shawsheen Tech (4-6)rallied for five runs in the seventh inning but their comeback bid fell short against Whittier.

Lauren Barletta and Kassidy Trovato had a hit an an RBI each to lead the Rams' offense. Katelyn Logue and Victoria Basler also had hits.

Girls Lacrosse
Shawsheen Tech 15, Nashoba Tech 1

Taylor Lynch and Erin Mader scored three goals each to lead the Rams over the Vikings. Meg Brown and Alesha Talbot each scored their first varsity goals.

Boys Track
Shawsheen Tech 99, Chelsea 37
Shawsheen Tech 87, Greater Lawrence 50

The Rams improved to 3-1, sweeping the double dual meet.

Girls Track
Shawsheen Tech 94, Greater Lawrence 36
Chelsea 81, Shawsheen Tech 55

Shawsheen Tech is 4-2 on the season, splitting the double dual meet.


Dracut 5, Tewksbury 0

Jack Theriault pitched well in defeat for Tewksbury, allowing six hits and striking out seven. Cam Legvold, Stephen Hamel, Josh Asselin, Ryan Morris and  Theriault had hits for the Redmen.

Shawsheen 15, Lynn Tech 0

Junior Craig Rich drove in six runs to lead the Rams in a rout over Lynn Tech. Rich had three hits, including a double and a triple.

But Rich was hardly alone in doing damage for the Rams (7-3) Tyler Boutwell had two hits and four RBI. David Lindsey added two hits, scored three times and drove in a run. Sean Flagg earned the win on the mound.
