TMHS Seniors Figuerido, Jean-Baptiste Chosen as Hats Off Winners for May

Seniors Katelyn Figueiredo and Christine Jean-Baptiste have ben selected as winners of the Tewksbury Memorial High School Hats Off Awards for May.

Seniors Katelyn Figueiredo and Christine Jean-Baptiste have ben selected as winners of the Tewksbury Memorial High School Hats Off Awards for May.

The students were honored at a Rotary Club Luncheon to be held on Thursday, May 19, at the Tewksbury Country Club at 12:15 p.m. 

Hats Off is a joint initiative of the Tewksbury Rotary Club and Tewksbury Memorial High School.  The Award recognizes those students who have distinguished themselves academically, have contributed to the co-curricular program at the High School and have been actively involved in the community.

Recipient of numerous Gold and Silver Renaissance Card Awards

Community Service: Volunteer at MSPCA

Work Experience: Receptionist at a hair salon five days a week

Employed at MIT in the summer

Other: I am very open hearted and would like to become a nurse.

Nominating faculty member Ms. Sue Sullivan states that Katelyn is a great role model in class.  She does an excellent job with all of her projects and takes the time to help other students.  Katelyn is very creative and has a great eye for detail.


Christine Jean-Baptiste

Special Achievements: Recipient of MVC All Star and All Conference in Track

Broke a school record in the 4 x 1 in Track

Community Service: Volunteer teacher for Sunday School Bible Study

Volunteer for youth track meets

Participant in 5k Fun Run at the Tewksbury Country Club on Memorial Day 

  to benefit local charities and scholarships

Work Experience: Cashier at Market Basket

Assistant Teacher at KinderCare Learning Center

Function Waitress at Tewksbury Country Club

Other: I love participating in the track program at TMHS.  The environment is so friendly 

and supportive while allowing me to push myself past limits I did not know I had.  

The track program has had a huge impact on who I am today.

Nominating faculty member Mr. Brian Aylward states that Christine is a great student and athlete at TMHS.  She has been a leader in our track and field program over the past four years.  She was captain for the State Championship State Relay Team.  He also states that Christine is an outstanding student in our AP U.S. Government class.
