Tewksbury High Girls Claim MVC Track And Field Championship

The Tewksbury High girls track team continued its exceptional spring season with a dominant victory at the MVC Championships on Saturday in Andover.
The Redmen rolled up 134 points to easily outdistance second-place Andover (104). The MVC League Meet title is added to Tewksbury's 12th straight dual-meet championship.
As she has throughout the year, sophomore Rachel Sessa led Tewksbury on Saturday with individual league titles in the 800 meters (2:26.88) and the mile (5:03.27). Emily Sessa placed second in the 800 in 2:18.64. The Sessa sisters also anchored the Redmen's winning 4x800 relay team, which cruised to victory in a time of 9:45.43).
Tewksbury also got individual league championships from Ashley Colarusso in the pole vault (10-0), Krista Stracqualursi in the discus (111-0) and the 4x100 relay team (50.49).
The Redmen also got a pair of second-place finishes from Lauren Polimeno in the 400 meter hurdles (1:06.6) and the high jump (4-10). They also received second-place efforts from the 4x400 relay team and Holly O'Leary in the two-mile (11:41.20), 
Third place efforts were turned in by Molly Robertson in the javelin (95-4), Kendall Paolella in the 110 hurdles (16.75), Devyn Veits in the two-mile (11:43.93), Tatum Pecci in the 200 (26.14) and Polimeno in the 400.
Boys Place 9th 
The TMHS boys placed 9th at the MVC League Meet with 26 points. Lowell placed first with 114.
Billy Bennett led the way for the Redmen, capturing the league championship in the shot put with a throw of 48-10.
Masyn Lorick placed second in the high jump with a leap of 6-4.
