Tewksbury GU12-5 4 vs Dracuct GU 12-4 -3
The Tigers have been on an amazing streak of great soccer, and returning to the home fields, they were hoping to see more.  Saturday, they were playing Dracut, a team they had not faced so far this season.  The team was ready to go with Ava Piccolo, Molly Cremin, and Natalie Martin starting for offense.   Gaby Ortiz followed them closely as midfielder.  The girls were at first flat, maybe due to the early game start time. The defense had a lot of work to do that first session as Dracut was driving and heading towards the defensive end for a lot that first half.   Tewksbury started with Emily Zadig, Courtney Rowe, and Becca Langone. The girls, along with Erica Spurr in the net, were truly put to the test.
Dracut finally was able to wear Tewksbury down and scored first.   Later though, Natalie Martin stole a Dracut pass, and went the distance of the field to score her first goal of the game and her first one of the season.  Next to hit a goal for Sarah Boone. She was able to come off the bench, along with Evelyn Johnson, to break free and get Tewksbury ahead with little time left that first half. Dracut was still fighting to keep this close, and they again were able to get a second HIGH goal over Erica's head. The teams headed into the half tied 2-2, but the Tigers were ready to take this.
Again, the line of Ava Piccolo, Molly Cremin, and this time Gaby Ortiz went in to try to make some plays.  Meghan Haley was also added back on defense and Melanie Kaplan at midfielder. The passes were great, as Molly Cremin set Ava Piccolo up for her first goal of the game and season. Gaby moved back to defense giving both Emily Zadig and Evelyn Johnson chances to add to the score.  Both had some great plays in the center of the field. Dracut ended up coming back again with a HIGH shot over Erica's head.  Not willing to settle for the tie again, the girls worked together as a team. Sarah Boone, Melanie Kaplan, and Ava Piccolo were taking shot after shot.  Finally, Ava Piccolo got her second goal of the game and that was the final score. The Tigers held on and remain unbeaten with three more games to go. Nice team win for the Tigers.

Tewksbury BU10-3 1 vs Malden BU 10-3 -4
The Rockers returned to their home field hoping to get a third win in a row.    They were playing short handed as Seumas Naughton and Nate Laboy were unavailable for the game.  They still had 10 players ready to give the game their all.  Starting on the offense were Jeremy Insogna, Ben Piccolo, and Tucker Robinson.  The defense was anchored by Evan Deleon and Edward Doyle, along with William Filmore in the net.
Malden was an amazing team to watch.  At times, they played ALL five players on offense. This proved to be too much, as Malden quickly scored. Later Jeremy Insogna answered after connecting from a pass from Evan Deleon.  Malden again was relentless scoring another goal soon after ours.  The scored stayed 2-1 into the half.  The boys tried very hard to make some plays.  Greg Mercado was added back on defense along with Edward Doyle, now in the net.  William Filmore started on the offensive line along with Ben Piccolo and Ethan Hines.  The boys had many great shots but the Malden goalie was amazing.  Tyler Chesbrough played great on the offensive side of the ball making great passes and had key drives.  The Malden team was just too much for Tewksbury, with the five player attack, quickly adding two more goals.  The team never quit and kept it very entertaining. A team effort where we just fell short this week.

GU10-4 Tewksbury 2 vs. Burlington 2
The Tewksbury Tornadoes played their first of 2 games tonight against Burlington.  It was a tough game that ended with a 2-2 tie.  Burlington struck early jumping out to a 2-0 lead.  The Tornadoes picked up their game when Brynn Capistran got Tewksbury on the board.  Rachel Lochiatto, Elena Lochiatto, Kelli Anderson, Adrianna DiGiacomo, and Krissi Macdonald kept the offensive pressure on keeping the ball on the Burlington side of the field.    Erin Costello got a goal midway through the 2nd half to tie things up.  Burlington remained tough trying to get their offense going.  Maya Medera, Gianna Flynn, Alexis Rooney, and Paige Crowley stepped up and kept the ball to the outside. Krissi Macdonald and Beth Trout both made some great saves in net.  The game ended in a hard fought 2-2 tie.

GU10-4 Tewksbury Tornadoes 9 vs Westford 2
After a slow start the Tewksbury Tornadoes stepped up their game to beat Westford 9-2.  The Tornadoes were slow out of the gate and were down  2-0  early in this game.  Midway through the first half, they started playing their game.  Kelli Anderson got Tewksbury's first goal after a beautiful pass from Paige Crowley.   Paige Crowley then got a goal shortly before half time. The game was tied 2-2 at the half.  The second half became a much more physical game, but the Tornadoes stayed tough and played as a team.
Kelli Anderson netted 2 more goals early in the second half with assists on both goals from Rachel Lochiatto.  Rachel Lochiatto then added a goal of her own. Gianna Flynn, Maya Medera, Adrianna DiGiacomo, Erin Costello, and Alexis Rooney were playing  tough on defense and set up the offense with nice passes and throw ins.  Elena Lochiatto and Brynn Capistran both added to the lead off a rebounds from the Westford defense. Paige Crowley scored her second goal of the game to finish a string of nice passes from her teammates.  Maya Medera got the last of the Tewksbury goals with an impressive drive from the Tewksbury side of the field that ended with a strong shot and a goal!   As always, Beth Trout and Krissi Macdonald always stay tough between the posts.  The Tornadoes were proud and excited after the strong team win as they now qualify for the Commissioner's Cup!  The girls now have a well deserved break for Memorial Day and hope to continue their success in the next game against Dracut.
