As the calendar turns and the temperatures rise, some high school students will be focused on the Prom, Graduation and Summer Vacation.
But for many Rams and Redmen, there is some unfinished business before heading to the beach.
It's State Tournament time and several local teams will be participating.

Softball
Division 2
North Sectional
The Tewksbury High softball team has grabbed the No. 1 seed in the 17-team Division 2 North Sectional with a sparkling 17-3 record. The "Cardiac Kids" of the MVC had some narrow escapes during the season but with a high-powered offense, the Redmen were never out of any game.
Tewksbury will open play at home on Sunday, June 5, at 2 p.m. against the winner of the Preliminary Round Game between No. 16 Wakefield and No. 17 Bedford. With a win, the Redmen would advance to the quarterfinals on Tuesday, June 7, with the site and time to be determined.

Baseball
Division 2
North Sectional
With a 14-6 record, the Shawsheen Tech baseball team qualified as the No. 7 seed in the 22-team Division 2 North Sectional. The Rams will open play on Saturday, June 4, at home at 4 p.m. against No. 10 Swampscott (13-7).
With a first-round win, Shawsheen Tech would advance to the quarterfinals against either No. 2 Austin Prep (17-3), No. 15 Bishop Fenwick (13-9) or No. 18 Greatr Lowell (10-10). The date and site are to be determined.
North Reading grabbed the top seed in Division 2 with a 17-3 record.

Boys Lacrosse
Division 2
North Sectional
Tewksbury High and Shawsheen Tech will both be a part of the 11-team Division 2 North Boys Lacrosse Tournament.
Shawsheen Tech (15-5) is seeded No. 5, while Tewksbury (8-12) snuck in at No. 11.
The Rams will open play with a quarterfinal contest, Thursday, June 2, at 5 p.m., on the road at Melrose. Tewksbury plays a First Round game on Thursday, June 2, at 5 p.m., on the road at No. 6 Malden Catholic (9-9). With a victory, the Redmen would advance to the quarterfinals on Sunday, June 5, at 5 p.m. at No. 3 Wakefield (16-2).
Beverly (19-1) is the top seed in the tournament.

Girls Lacrosse
Division 2
North Sectional
Tewksbury High and Shawsheen Tech will both be a part of the 15-team Division 2 North Girls Lacrosse Tournament.
Shawsheen Tech rolls into the postseason as the No. 9 seed, with a 12-4 record. The Rams actually opened play on Tuesday, with a 15-13 win on the road at No. 8 Lowell Catholic (14-5).
That's the good news.
The bad news is Shawsheen must now face No. 1 seed Marblehead (19-1) in a quarterfinal game on Thursday, June 2 at 5 p.m.
Tewksbury is the No. 15 seed in the tournament. The Redmen (6-14) will open play with a First Round game on Thursday, June 2, at 3:30 p.m. at No. 2 Manchester Essex (16-2).
