the TMHS Girls Track team was honored by the School Committee for winning the All-State Championship.

Before they got around to the more serious business of their June 15 meeting, the members of the Tewksbury School Committee took time to honor numerous people for their excellence and contributions to the district.
The Tewksbury Education Foundation, which has donated more than $100,000 to the Tewksbury Public Schools over the years, was honored with the Ginsburg Family Award for their donations and volunteer efforts in the district.
The award was presented by Marc, Leisa, Matt and Molly Ginsburg. Representing the TEF in receiving the award were President Erin Asselin, Vice President Laura Hulme, Treasurer Arthy Bennett and Secretary Jennifer Malizia.
The School Committee also paid tribute to the students and staff involved in the Peer-to-Peer Leadership Program at the Ryan School. A citation was presented to program advisor Kim Hillson.
The 2016 Tewksbury High School Girls Track Team was honored for their first-ever All-State Championship, captured earlier this month. Distance runner Rachel Sessa was singled out for her All-State championship in the mile (4:53) and subsequent 3rd place finish in the New England Championships. The team was led by Head Coach John Byrnes and assistant coaches Peter Molly, Fran Cusick, Carol Navetta, Nick Parsons and Mike Davis.
The School Committee also honored two members of their administrative team, whom Superintendent of Schools Dr. John O'Connor dubbed "PARCC MVPs" because of their outstanding work in helping make sure the new PARCC exams went off as smoothly as possible. Cameron Carey, Technology Technician, was honored for his work in making sure the computer systems used in the exams were all functioning properly. Susie Meuse, Student Data Administrator, was honored for her work making sure every piece of data was processed quickly and accurately before and after the exams.
