A Lowell man was arrested this week, charged with trying to sell drugs to a Tewksbury Police Officer.

Sergio DaCosta, 26, of 251 Moore Street, Lowell, was charged with possession with the intent to distribute cocaine.

According to Tewksbury Police Chief Timothy Sheehan, an undercover Detective was patrolling the Motel 6 parking lot on Monday, June 21, when he was approached by DaCosta, who allegedly asked him if he wanted to purchase cocaine. According to the officer's report, an agreement was made to purchase the cocaine from DaCosta.  The cocaine was seized and DaCosta was placed under arrest.

DaCosta was arraigned on June 22 at Lowell District Court.
