UPDATED: Multiple Water Main Breaks Interrupt Service For Hundreds Of Residents And Businesses

Tewksbury DPW workers have nearly completed their work, repairing four water main breaks that hit Tewksbury early Monday, leaving hundreds of homes and businesses without water.
According to Tewksbury Police, the ruptures at Main Street at Hill Street, South Street at Brown Street, and Fiske Street at Woodcrest have been repaired.
Crews will be working on the break on Lowell Street at Kernwood Avenue on Tuesday.

Tewksbury DPW workers had their hands full Monday, trying to contain and repair at least four water main breaks across the town.
According to Tewksbury Police, breaks occurred Monday morning on Main Street at Hill Street, South Street at Brown Street, Lowell Street at Kernwood Avenue and Fiske Street at Woodcrest.
Hundreds of residents and businesses found themselves without power this morning.
As of 1 p.m., the break on Hill Street appeared to be repaired but workers were still dealing with the others.
DPW Superintendent Brian Gilbert was no immediately available for comment regarding the cause of the ruptures or the estimated time of repair.
