Samuel J. Bernard, age 100 years, of West Melbourne, FL, formerly of Everett, MA, died peacefully surrounded by his family on July 8, 2016.
Sam was the beloved husband of the late Dorothy A. (Covino) Bernard, devoted father of Ronald S. Bernard of Tewksbury and Samuel L. Bernard of Boston. Father-in-law of Lynn Ann Bernard of Tewksbury. Loving Grandfather of Gina Murphy of Methuen, Ranee and Timothy Rooney of Wilmington, Ronald Bernard of Tewksbury, Michelle Kane of Everett, Anthony Bernard of Salisbury, Brian Bernard of Quincy, and Great-Grandfather of Morgan, Jake, Ashley, Conor, Jack, Aidan, Gavin, Morgan, and Tatum. Dear son of the late Simone and Nora (Dempsey) Bernard, brother of the late Rita Reardon, Anthony, James, Andrew, and Albert Bernard. Sam is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will gather for a Funeral Service at the Woodlawn Cemetery Chapel, 302 Elm Street, Everett, MA, on Wednesday, July 13th at 11:00 a.m. Interment with Military Honors will follow.

Samuel was a United States Navy Veteran during World War II and a Postal Clerk for the Boston Post Office for many years before he retired.
