You can learn a great deal about a town by observing the comfort level in the relationship between residents and law enforcement.
With that as a criteria, Tewksbury is a strong, vibrant and healthy community.
Hundreds of families turned out, Tuesday night, for the annual National Night Out, sponsored by the Tewksbury Police Department.
For the first time, the event took place at Tewksbury High School, providing plenty of room for families to enjoy the free food, games and fun activities available.
On hand were several local businesses, including Merrimack Valley Pavilion, Wamesit Lanes and Salem Five Bank, as well as vehicles and officers from both the Fire Department and Police Department.
Activities included face painting, giant bubbles, hula hoops and first aid lessons for kids.
Several officers said they believed it was the largest turnout in the seven-year history of the event.
