Douglas John Tremlett passed away in his Nashua home on August 3rd at 9:40AM peacefully while being held by his family. His dance with ALS lasted 4 years and he chose to do it gracefully with dignity and respect. He knew he would be the example for others with ALS and wanted to help change the future.

He was born on December 4, 1961 to Joan Tremlett and the late Raymond Tremlett Jr. He was married to Barb Tremlett for 31 years and had 3 children; Cassandra, Keith, Racheal and his grandson Pavel, who was the light of his life.

He adored his three brothers Raymond Tremlett III and wife Shari of Belmont NH; Scott Tremlett and wife Heidi of Pittsfield MA; Patrick Tremlett of Lowell MA; and his nieces and nephews Amanda, Raymond, Liam, Lauren, Kelsey, Sean and Morgan.

He graduated from Tewksbury High School in 1981 and then enlisted in the U.S Air force (1981-1984) as an Electronic Technician and worked on missiles. Doug was congregant at the Church of the Good Shepherd for 29 years, serving many of roles including Senior Warden and Youth Advisor. Doug was on several non-profit boards in the local area, performed duties on many volunteer committees and positions. He joined the Nashua Elks 720 in 2007 and served many positions including being the first 3 time Exalted Ruler. He loved golfing and all the guys on the Golf League. He served as a Commissioner for 4 years for the City of Nashua for Non-profit allocation. He has been a referee, coach and mentor for sports in Nashua and loved to coach youth hockey. He loved traveling the world with his Barbie enjoying all God’s creations. Doug was a lover of life and experiencing only the good stuff. He was humble, loyal, kind, compassionate and always made those he met feel accepted.

Doug requested that research still continue for natural approaches to helping others with ALS. Donations can be made to The Doug Tremlett Fund or

Services will be held at The Church of the Good Shepherd 214 Main Street 10 am on Saturday, August 13, 2016. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Nashua Elks at 120 Daniel Webster Highway from 12-4 pm immediately following the church service.
