Adult Events

How To Improve Your Public Speaking Skills (*RR)
Monday, August 22, 2pm
Mike Chase, founder and coach of “Great Results!, LLC,” will teach job seekers how to overcome their fear of public speaking with some helpful tips and techniques.

How To Use Instagram (*RR)
Tuesday, August 23, 2pm AND 7pm
Learn the basics of Instagram with demonstrations, videos, handouts and Q&A. While this is not a hands-on session, participants will leave ready to set up an account and start using Instagram on their own.

How To Download Free Movies With Hoopla (*RR)
Wednesday, August 24, 10:30am
Learn how to download free movies (and more) via Hoopla, a free online music download and streaming service. Demonstrations, videos, handouts and Q&A will be included. While this is not a hands-on session, participants will leave ready to set up an account and start using Hoopla on their own.

Do you enjoy talking about town topics? Want to learn more about what’s going on in Tewksbury? Attend these weekly meetings to review the week’s local news & receive a free paper. 

How To Makeover A Room In 5 Steps (*RR)
Thursday, August 26, 7pm
Margaret Innis, professional homestager and owner of “Decorate To Sell,” will explain how to complete a room makeover in five steps without a large investment of time and money.  Guests will leave with ideas they can implement in their own homes. 

Film Screening: The Lobster (*RR)
Friday, August 26, 3pm AND 7:30pm
Enjoy a screening of The Lobster, a romantic drama starring Colin Farrell and Rachel Weisz. Entertainment Weekly named it the top film for the first half of 2016. In a dystopian future, single people are taken to The Hotel, where they are obliged to find a romantic partner in 45 days or after transformed into beasts and sent off into The Woods. Rated R. Complimentary snacks and beverages.

Teen Writing Group (*RR)
Tuesday, August 23, 5:30pm
Into creative writing? Want to meet new friends and enjoy fun writing exercises? Interested in sharing your work or hearing the writings of others? Join the library’s Teen Writing Group. Feel free to bring your own work to share. Writing supplies and snacks provided. Grades 6-12. 

Teen Anime Movie & Snacks: When Marnie Was There (*RR)
Wednesday, August 24, 5:30pm-7:45pm
Join us for a screening of the anime fil, When Marnie Was There. Rated PG. Enjoy Japanese snacks and discuss the film. Grades 6-12.

Children’s Summer Reading Program Prize Deadline
Kids who participated in the library’s Children Summer Reading Program can pick up their certificates and prizes through Friday, August 26.  The Children’s Room thanks all the Tewksbury families who visited the library this summer and wishes all Tewksbury students a fantastic 2016-2017 school year. 

Adult Summer Reading Raffle Winners
Congratulations to the winners of the library’s Adult Summer Reading Raffle – June Gramstorff (Whole Foods), Tara Hunt (Meadowlands), Susan Keskula (Angelina’s), Jan MacPherson (Wamesit Lanes), Gaetane Padur (Al Fresca), Shirley Papp (Tewksbury Country Club), and Donna Wilson (Mac’s). More than 200 individuals submitted nearly 400 entries.
